How To Help Families Affected By The Devastating Earthquake In Turkey & Syria

The 7.8 earthquake is one of the most powerful on record.

Early on Feb. 6, a devastating magnitude 7.8 earthquake struck Turkey and Syria. More than 5,000 people have been killed and thousands more injured. Sadly, those numbers are only expect to increase as rescue efforts continue.

The quake, which hit near the Turkish city of Gaziantep near the Syrian border, is one of the most powerful on record. Both countries have asked for international governmental aid, but here’s where you can donate to help families affected by the earthquake.

This UN agency is already on the ground in Syria assessing the situation. The initial focus of their emergency response will be on water, sanitation and hygiene, child protection services, nutrition and education.

These first responders provide emergency relief and work with communities to rebuild and endure. Their team in Syria has already been deployed and they are in discussion with the World Health Organization to provide additional help.

In addition to providing opportunity and care for children around the world, this 104 NGO also offers assistance to little ones affected by natural disasters. They already have teams on the ground to provide food, shelter, and warm clothing.
