Your Weekly Parenting Horoscope for July 17-23
It's true: Your zodiac sign can offer insight into plenty of random moments in your everyday life, from how you can best tackle your toddler's worst tantrums to identifying your career goals. Romper partnered with astrologer Maressa Brown to share how you can make what's going on up in the sky work for you and score even more bliss and balance in your day-to-day. Here's your weekly horoscope for July 17-23.
The big astrological news this week is a new moon in Leo around Sunday, July 23 — and the planet of action, go-getter Mars, which is moving from maternal, emotional Cancer into dynamic, fiery Leo on Thursday, July 20. As a result, the vibes with the people in your life could quickly go from warm, fuzzy, and sentimental to ego-centric, dramatic, and more action-oriented. You might also zero in on self-care, or how you can treat yourself with the same big heartedness you offer your L.O. and others. But the new moon means you'll have a sweet opportunity to plant the seed for something you're psyched to see come to fruition. Maybe it's time to sign up for that grad school program you keep talking about, or maybe you're pumped to try an intense workout for the first time since giving birth.
Read more below to find out what this week's forecast means for your sign.
Aries (March 21–April 19)
On Sunday, you might feel like getting super-flirtatious with your bae or that guy or girl who you just started talking to on Tinder. The new moon will be in your fifth house of romance, setting the stage for you to have a surprisingly playful and sexy time, so consider getting a sitter ahead of time. Enjoy yourself, mama.
Taurus (April 20-May 20)
Whether you've been mulling around the idea of totally redecorating the family room or finally discussing that irritating issue with your partner's parents, get on it around Sunday, when the new moon is in your fourth house of family life. You'll have a unique opportunity to be more assertive and diplomatic all at once, and what starts out as a complete friggin' headache may actually give way to something pretty sweet.
Gemini (May 21-June 20)
On Monday or Tuesday, you might make an observation about your partner (be it positive or negative) that will be more of an illusion than reality. That's because romantic Venus in your sign is forming two confusing aspects to dreamy Neptune and big picture Jupiter, totally clouding up your judgment. See if you can get an unbiased friend to give you their take, and try to hold off on any sort of concrete action until you're trusting your gut to tell you what's up.
Cancer (June 21-July 22)
You should definitely consider jumping on that cool investment strategy or new business idea around Sunday, when the new moon is in your second house of income. You might actually be so psyched that you're ready to dive in before figuring out how all the moving parts will work with your already hectic schedule. But as long as you can kinda wrap your head around all of that before pulling the trigger, this move could really light up your cash flow!
Leo (July 23-August 22)
It's like your very own personal New Year's around Sunday, when the new moon is in your sign. The energy of the moment has you seriously infatuated with a personal goal (like sneaking in more bang sessions with your bae when the L.O. is down for a nap, or going for that big promotion at work). You want the game plan in action immediately, but you're better off making small but strategic moves RN.
Virgo (August 23-September 22)
If you weren't already feeling totally zonked thanks to the daily grind and doing all of the things this summer, wait til the planet of action, Mars, is in your twelfth house of spirituality for six weeks, starting on Thursday. Oof. You are just going to need to give yourself a time-out, if at all possible. Call your mom in for back-up, ask your bae to step it up — just do whatever you need to do to squeeze in some downtime.
Libra (September 23-October 22)
A parenting strategy (like the best way to potty train your toddler) could suddenly seem overwhelming around Tuesday. That's when Venus forms a confusing angle to big picture Jupiter in your sign, and it'll be hard to get a grasp on the actual details around a major project. Give yourself a break. You'll have more clarity later on and can tackle it then!
Scorpio (October 23-November 21)
It's time to make a dramatic move on the job (like pitching your boss about that work-from-home proposal, so you can spend more time with your L.O.) around Sunday. The new moon is in your tenth house of career, which will make you feel even more confident. Yes, you are a damn queen. Take advantage! It's doubtful that you'll regret having spoken up for yourself.
Sagittarius (November 22-December 21)
You thought you told your kid or your partner one thing, but they're totally hearing something else. Plus, you can't seem to nail down any concrete plans with anyone. This sums up your entire Monday and Tuesday, thanks to relationship-ruling Venus in your fourth house of family life forming an awkward angle to dreamy Neptune and big picture Jupiter. Awesome, right? Basically, if you wanna peace out and go to that yoga class, you totally should—for your own sanity!
Capricorn (December 22-January 19)
If you've been wanting to ask your in-laws to watch the kids and have a night at home with your partner for some Netflix and not at all chill time, you should definitely do that around Sunday. The new moon is in your eighth house of sexual intimacy, offering an opportunity to kinda shake things up in the bedroom. If child care isn't in the cards RN, getting creative (think jumping your partner in the shower) can make sparks fly just as much.
Aquarius (January 20-February 18)
You and your bae will do well to get a grasp on all those shared to-dos (like setting a new budget, researching the kid's preschool tuition, booking flights for that family wedding in the fall, etc.) while the confident sun is in your seventh house of partnership for a month starting on Saturday. Working as a team to check everything off that massive list will be key to feeling productive and more in sync.
Pisces (February 19-March 20)
Face it: you know something has to change about your daily grind, but you've been putting off making a move. Before you really lose your sh*t, you should consider taking action around Sunday, when the new moon is in your sixth house of health and routines. Something as straightforward as sending an email to get more details on your kid's fall schedule, or scheduling a check-up with your doc could have you feeling significantly more chill.
