It's A Girl For 'Grey's Anatomy' Actress Camilla Luddington!
Grey's Anatomy fans, there is a new addition to the Shondaland fam. On Tuesday, Camilla Luddington confirmed the birth of her first baby, a daughter named Hayden, with a sweet black and white Instagram post. “We have a new great love in our lives… our sweet baby girl…Hayden," the Grey's actor captioned the picture. If you totally adore the character she plays in Grey's Anatomy, seeing Luddington welcome a sweet baby girl might make you want to grab a few tissues.
Luddington announced her pregnancy back in October with an Instagram post, writing:
I am SO excited to FINALLY share with you all news that ive managed to keep secret for what seems like forever now... I am pregnant!!!!!! This girl gets to be a "cool mom" ha!
As one of the coolest Grey's Anatomy residents in the hospital hallways, she's definitely earned her own IRL cool mom status.
Baby Hayden is entering the world in great company. Luddington recently told People that she was already prone to dance parties. “I know the baby can hear at this point, so we have jam sessions during my commute. I think she really loves Beyoncé — and I love her even more for that," Luddington dished.
Fans already knew that Luddington's baby-to-be was going to be in tune with the queen. Last month, Grey's Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo spoofed Queen Bey's pregnancy announcement, using Luddington as her muse.
Camilla, just about to give birth, as we now know, kneeled among silky-smooth fabrics, highlighting her bump, just like Beyoncé did in her now iconic pregnancy announcement. The play on the announcement was all in good fun. In fact, Luddington has been thinking about how to raise a little feminist like the real Queen Bey for a long time. She said last year:
I want her be a little warrior who is not afraid to use her voice and stand up for what she believes is right. To navigate through life with courage and kindness, and to be one of the girls who says "you CAN sit with us."
Luddington even announced her pregnancy holding up a onesie that read "Tombraider In Training," doubling down on her idea about what it means to raise a tiny feminist, boy or girl:
I am so excited to announce today that I am having a... girl! 🎉 I want her to grow up knowing how strong women are 💪. To be a little warrior who is not afraid to use her voice and stand up for what she believes is right. To navigate through life with courage and kindness, and to be one of the girls who says "you CAN sit with us.'
YAS. Welcome to TGIT, baby Hayden! It's not as stressful as Twitter makes it out to be. And your mom is apparently cool AF, on and off screen.
