Cece Received Big News On 'New Girl'

by Kelly Schremph

If you thought Cece and Schmidt couldn't get any cuter then think again — because now they're about to become parents. That's right, folks — Cece discovers she's pregnant in the New Girl Season 6 finale, but really, it's the way she finds out that'll send your emotions into overdrive. Or, at least, that's what happened with me.

After visiting the gynecologist, her doctor (and friend) Sadie called her up to report the good news... except Cece wasn't the one who picked up the phone, Jess was. Sadie didn't wait to confirm it was her patient on the line and just blurted out "you're pregnant," which left Jess understandably shocked. She told Sadie to call back in a minute so that way Cece could find out the proper way, but of course that didn't work out either. Aly picked up during the second phone call and learned the news in the same exact way and Winston overheard. (Sadie really needs to develop a better phone procedure for news like this.)

Without thinking, Winston spoke with Schmidt on the phone to congratulate him on the exciting news, but since Cece didn't even know she was pregnant yet, this was brand new information to Schmidt. So yeah, Cece was pretty much the last person to find out, however, Schmidt had an amazing way to go about telling her.

As soon as she got home, she was greeted by a sea of flowers throughout their new place with Schmidt holding up a bouquet. That's when he shared with her that they were going to be parents. She was overjoyed and so, so happy. It was a tender moment they shared and only helped further prove how right they are for each other. It's hard to say how far along Cece is at the moment, but I doubt she's very far, which means Season 7 could explore more of her pregnancy — that is, so long as the series gets picked up for another season.

FOX has yet to pick up New Girl for a Season 7, so it's hard to say we'll find out any more about this storyline, including whether or not they end up having a boy or a girl. Part of me feels like it would be OK just knowing that their future is looking brighter than ever, but at the same time, I'd love to experience that journey with them. Fans have come to love these characters so much throughout the years, so I'm hoping we'll be able to get at least one more season before we're forced to say goodbye for good. But in the meantime, let's all just bask in the adorableness of their love.
