Damon Killed Tyler Lockwood On 'The Vampire Diaries' & Fans Are Devastated

by Kelly Schremph

Last week many fans feared that Damon had crossed a line he could never uncross, and now after Friday night's episode "An Eternity of Misery," the worst has been confirmed. Tyler Lockwood is dead on The Vampire Diaries. And as devastating as that realization is, this next part is arguably even worse: it was all Damon's fault. That's right, my friends. Damon killed Tyler on The Vampire Diaries. So as you can imagine, fans are absolutely devastated.

Honestly, I'm not entirely sure which part I'm more upset about, the fact that Tyler is dead or that it was by Damon's hand. Because now that Matt Donovan has seen Tyler's body with his own precious baby blue eyes, he's going to let the rest of the gang know. And as much damage as Damon has done over the years, this is by far one of his biggest sins ever, at least in the eyes of this Mystic Falls group. I say that because he didn't just kill some stranger they didn't know or care about. He killed a member of their own and that's pretty much unforgivable. I mean, seriously, how can someone ever come back from something like that? They can't, right?

Damon has always been pegged as the "bad boy" of the bunch and with good reason, but he's never gone too far in many cases. He came close when he snapped Jeremy's neck way back when. Thankfully, Elena's baby bro had been wearing Alaric's ring at the time, so he was able to come back. But Damon didn't know that, so he lucked out in that instance. This time, though, it's a whole different ballgame.

To top it off, Matt's reaction was just so heartbreaking. I don't think I'll ever be able to recover from watching his collapse on the ground in tears after he found Tyler dead in the trunk of a car, just like Damon had described to him. When Matt weeps, the world weeps. And if I'm this upset over all of this, just imagine how much worse it'll be when everyone else finds out.
