JoJo Tells Chad Off And Sends Him Home On 'The Bachelorette'

by Mariella Mosthof

After a tense, awkward two-on-one with Chad and Alex, JoJo has finally, blessedly cut Chad loose. In a brilliant moment of strength after Alex tells JoJo about all the threats and physical violence Chad has been perpetuating in the house, JoJo tells Chad off and sends him home on The Bachelorette, following a hiking date that was neither romantic nor relaxing.

She did her best to give Chad the benefit of the doubt for five weeks, especially considering she was the only one privy to the information that his mother had died just six months before filming began. But once she heard Alex's reports that Chad had threatened to come find Jordan after the show was over, something seemed to shift in her. (Props to Alex, by the way, for taking the risk of disclosing Chad's behavior to JoJo, which is often regarded as "tattling" or gossiping about other contestants or throwing someone under the bus.)

"Today has been confusing for me," JoJo admitted when she addressed the two guys at the end of the date. "Alex, you told me some things that really upset me. Chad, I went to bat for you. I believe in second chances and I wanted to give you that. I just want to ask: have you threatened anyone in the house?"

"I mean, it's not a hundred percent false," Chad sidesteps. "There have been things that have happened in the house. And like I was telling [Alex] just now, we could have been cool this entire time."

"That's irrelevant, bro," Alex interrupts. "You can say that now, here, right here. You just this morning threatened Jordan that you would go find him after the show and beat his ass."

"Is that true?" JoJo presses.

"I mean, I may have said something that I shouldn't have said, but he backed me into a corner, I had no option," Chad diplomatically replies. Her next words are brutal:

"Chad, I don't think that you're the person that you say you are. I don't think that the way that you behave and resort to violence is something that's acceptable. I don't want somebody that threatens other people, who can't get along with other people, and that thinks that physical violence is the way to solve things. So with that said, Alex: will you accept this rose?"

Alex accepted and JoJo, in one final devastating blow, tells Chad she's just going to say goodbye to him then and there, instead of walking off with him for a private moment together. He awkwardly wanders off while JoJo and Alex canoodle for a minute.

"I'm so sorry that you just had to deal with that," Alex reassuringly says.

Meanwhile, Chad wonders aloud to production, "Am I getting pranked right now?"

Terrifyingly enough, this is not even the end of Chad. He bizarrely reenters the house next week, even though he's been ousted and production has dutifully delivered him his bags. But he shows up to the house the guys are staying in and creepily lurks by the door until someone lets him in.

The guys are freaked out, but we'll have to wait to see what exactly Chad wants with them.
