Good News For 'Married At First Sight' Fans; Jamie Otis Is Pregnant

by Jen McGuire

So here's some exciting news for Married At First Sight fans. Or Bachelor fans, for that matter, which means pretty much everyone on the planet. After several struggles with infertility, Jamie Otis is pregnant with her second child with husband Doug Hehner. And honestly she couldn't be more excited if she tried.

Otis and Hehner are already parents to 2-year-old daughter Henley Grace, and they have been desperately trying to give Henley a sibling for the past 18 months. The Bachelor alum has been open about her two miscarriages in the past. In 2016 the couple experienced their first miscarriage, a baby boy, when Otis was four months along. She and Hehner, who she married back in March, 2014, according to People, shared the news of that pregnancy with fans just before Christmas 2018, only to reveal that she had miscarried in January 2019, according to E! Online. As the devastated mom wrote on Instagram, ""We've had a 'failed miscarriage.' Our baby formed and there was an amniotic sac, but while the amniotic sac continued to grow the baby stopped at some point." Now it seems the couple are expecting again. Otis shared the news on her Instagram feed right from the fertility doctor's office, where she and Hehner were so excited to share the good news; Henley is going to be a big sister.

As she explained in the caption:

We went to the fertility specialist and found out WE ARE PREGNANT!!! I cannot even believe it! ...after 18 long, painful months, two losses and negative after negative on the pregnancy tests we are *finally* pregnant again! Of course I am being cautiously optimistic, but I have a feeling this little one is going to stick.

She went on to note that she is likely around four weeks along so it is early days at this point, but after everything she and her husband have gone through to conceive of course she is too excited to keep the news to herself. And Otis has another reason to share her news; she wants to encourage other families struggling with infertility to keep hoping, as she explained in her emotional post:

I just want to say this: if you’re reading this & are currently in the process of #ttc - oh mama, my heart hurts for you. I know the instant internal pain that comes from another’s pregnancy announcement - even if you are or at least want to be - happy for the lucky couple. I just want you to know that your rainbow will come too. The storm cant stay forever. Hold onto hope! I am thinking of you.

Jamie Otis has been open in the past about her desire for her children to be close in age, as per Us Weekly, which is one of the reasons why she and Hehner began trying to conceive so soon after Henley's birth. While it is a sad truth about life that things rarely go the way we plan, it looks like Jamie Otis might get her wish after all.
