Michael Phelps & Nicole Johnson Are Expecting Their 2nd Child, & OMG

Congratulations are clearly in order. According to an Instagram post uploaded by the Olympian swimmer on Tuesday morning, Michael Phelps and Nichole Johnson are expecting again! The couple are already parents to one 15-month-old son, the adorable Boomer Robert, and don't know yet whether they'll be welcoming another little boy or a baby girl to the family — but judging by the smiles in the announcement picture, everyone is very excited about the news.

The Phelps family all announced the news on Instagram at around the same time on Tuesday. Both Phelps and Johnson used the same picture (one of Johnson holding Boomer and smiling), but they switched up their announcements. Phelps' caption read, "Number 2 on the way!!!! So excited!! Wonder if it's a boy or a girl??" while Johnson wrote, "Lil mans going to be a Big Brother!!!"

Even little Boomer's Instagram account, which is hilariously run by his parents, had a new post up celebrating the news. "So excited to see what mama is having!!" read the caption on a picture of a clapping Boomer. "Do I get to have a brother or a sister?!?"

One thing's for sure: the Phelps are all very excited about their new addition. They are also all very big fans of exclamation marks. (And with news that big to announce, who wouldn't be?)

Phelps and Johnson announced their first pregnancy in November 2015, and Boomer was born in May 2016. By August that year, Phelps was already talking about adding on to the family, telling People that he and Johnson would "love, love, love" to have a baby girl next — although they still weren't exactly sure when that would be happening. "We’ve talked about more [children]," he told People at the time. "We don’t really know how many more we want. ... We got a beautiful, healthy baby boy, and we’re looking to continue to grow our family."

Johnson and Phelps dated on and off for about eight years before they got engaged in 2015, according to People. The couple then got married in a secret, intimate wedding last year, just a month after welcoming Boomer, and they've been enjoying parenthood ever since.

"It's wild to think that a year has passed," Phelps told TODAY Parents in April. "Nicole and I will still look at each other like, 'We have a child! This is our child.' It's probably the best thing I've ever, ever been able to be a part of."

And now, it looks like Phelps, Johnson, and Boomer will be welcoming another child into their family. Congratulations to the family on the exciting news!
