The 2017 Golden Globes Nominations Are Filled With Surprises & Snubs
It's the most wonderful time of the year. No, not the candy cane-coated holidays. (Though those do merit some amount of cheer.) It's award show season — or at least pretty close to it. The season of statues and style kicked of last Tuesday with the 2017 Grammy nomination ceremony and continued Monday with the announcement of the 2017 Golden Globe nominations.
In true 21st century fashion, the 2017 Golden Globe nominations were announced via a live-stream on the on the Hollywood Foreign Press Association’s official site and Facebook page. As fans watched from the comfort of their couches and cubicles, Don Cheadle, Laura Dern, and Anna Kendrick took to the stage of the Beverly Hilton Hotel to announce this year's nominees.
It may be hard for some people to wrap their heads around an award show when their are gifts to buy, cookies to bake, and parties to attend. But for the pop culture enthusiasts of the world, learning which actors and actresses will vying for a Golden Globe come January is more thrilling than any White Elephant gift exchange. Especially with a pool of such talented contenders.
