Tristan Thompson's Quotes About Family Prove He's Already A Great Dad

While there's been plenty of speculation surrounding Khloé Kardashian after it was reported that she was pregnant with her first baby, not much attention has been paid to the alleged father of her child, Kardashian's boyfriend Tristan Thompson. And that kind of makes sense, as Tristan Thompson's quotes about family are far and few between and any remarks about his alleged impending new fatherhood are virtually nonexistent. But, that's really not a bad thing, as the basketball star is a fairly private person.

Which is actually pretty ironic when you think about it. Thompson's girlfriend is part of one of the most well-known families in the world. And apart from that, Kardashian has been extremely open about her personal life, on and off screen. In fact, in an April interview with ES Magazine, Kardashian revealed that she and Thompson had talked about the possibility of starting a family together:

I would love to have a family. We’ve talked about it... He [already] is a father, and I know for a fact that he would be an impeccable father.

Although Kardashian's pregnancy has yet to be confirmed, fans are still clamoring for any and all pieces of information about the couple that they can get their hands on. Unfortunately, Thompson himself is a pretty private guy, and doesn't post a lot of personal information or talk much about it in interviews.

However, there are certainly some things about him and things that he's said that help solidify Kardashian's comment that he'll be a great dad, because he's already is a great dad. Thompson is father to 11-month-old Prince, whom he shares with his ex-girlfriend, Jordan Craig.

And in 2015 interview with The Toronto Star, Thompson showed how big his heart is when it comes to kids and how much he cares about his existing family already. Thompson's little brother, Amari, suffers from epilepsy, and Thompson has been using his fame and fortune to help spread awareness of the disease. According to his interview with The Toronto Star:

My brother having epilepsy and seeing what he goes through and hearing the stories of other families and what they got through really touches my heart, it motivates me. I try to do everything I can to raise money and awareness with my voice and my name.

In a tweet showing Thompson attending a charity event to raise funds for epilepsy, Thompson used the hashtag "#FamilyFirst," which indicates that he really is all about his family.

Clearly, Thompson is thoughtful, giving, and compassionate, which makes sense considering Kardashian already thinks of him as a great dad. But, back in April, Kardashian was adamant that she didn't want to put too much pressure on him to start a family right away.

In her same interview with ES Magazine, Kardashian said:

I definitely want to be a mom. But I don’t put the pressure on it. It’s not like, 'The clock is ticking.' I feel in my soul it will happen.

And while the headlines and rumors certainly would suggest that Kardashian was right in her prediction that "it will happen," neither she nor Thompson have actually confirmed the baby news. So, nothing can be assumed. But, of course, that doesn't mean that it isn't fun to dissect some of what Thompson has said in the past to try and figure out what kind of father he already is, and what kind of father he will be to Kardashian's alleged baby.

The 26-year-old is obviously a successful basketball player — he's the power forward, center for the Cleveland Cavaliers — but he's also extremely family-oriented.

While Thompson's Instagram is mostly full of photos of him playing basketball, his friends, and some super cool photo shoots, the pictures he has with Kardashian are super sweet. And what's more, the captions for those photos also prove that while Thompson may not be a man of many words, he certainly is a man who holds his loved ones close. In his birthday message to Kardashian, Thompson wrote:

Happy bday my love, this picture right here sums up how wild, crazy and how much we love each other. Let's continue to build more memories and cherish them with each other. God bless you, I love you.

According to The Mirror, Thompson also considers Kardashian to be "family," as that's how she's described on her pass to see Thompson play basketball. Additionally, Thompson's Mother's Day message to his mom shows that he's respectful of parents, and recognizes the importance of mothers.

Perhaps when and if Kardashian's pregnancy is confirmed, Thompson will talk about being a father. But until then, he remains a private guy, and that's totally OK.
