Gabriela Garcia

Gabriela Garcia is a freelance writer for Romper, where she covers parenting in all of its stages, including pregnancy, newborns, toddlerhood, and ‘tween drama. She holds a degree in Comparative Literature from the University of Southern California and has a background in entertainment and marketing. Previously, Gabriela was a contributing editor for TheEverymom.com and has bylines at TheEverygirl.com, Remezcla.com, and Gozamos.com. She also has a monthly column at The Hinsdalean covering local news, politics, and culture. Gabriela is also the founder of ModernBrownGirl.com, a lifestyle site dedicated to amplifying brown voices. She was nominated by the Chicago Latino Network for Latino Entrepreneur of The Year and was a member of the Illinois Hispanic Chamber of Commerce + 1871’s Latinx Incubator. Gabriela lives outside of Chicago with her husband, two kids, and feisty Bernedoodle. When she is not working and being a personal assistant to her children, Gabriela enjoys cooking, antique shopping, gallery hopping, and marathon-watching Bravo TV.
