Jolene Edgar

Jolene Edgar is a veteran beauty writer whose work has appeared in Romper, Allure, Air Mail Look, Harper's Bazaar,Town & Country, Byrdie, The Zoe Report, and more. Jolene covers all aspects of beauty and wellness, but specializes in plastic surgery and skin-care content. Her newsletter, Aesthetics, Unfiltered: All the Things We Cannot Say, aims to reality-check trending treatments and fight the stigma plaguing cosmetic procedures and those who partake. Her unique brand of balanced, in-depth aesthetics reporting has earned her the respect of the country’s most esteemed plastic surgeons and dermatologists.

Jolene has a BA in English from The College of William & Mary. After earning her degree, she moved to New York City and landed a job assisting the publisher of The Atlantic. A year later, she segued into editorial, signing on at Redbook, where she assisted the editor-in-chief before eventually joining the beauty team. From there, she held beauty editor positions at Lifetime, O, The Oprah Magazine, and Allure, before going freelance.

Originally from Norton, Massachusetts, Jolene now lives in the seaside town of Barrington, Rhode Island, with her husband and two kids. She spends her free time on her Peloton attempting to develop some sort of midlife muscle tone, and at various RI ballfields cheering too loudly for her kids.
