Rachel Spalding is excited to be a news writer at Romper, where's she's gotten to cover celebrity parents she already loves including Meghan Markle, Mindy Kaling, Rachel Platten, Gabrielle Union, Hilaria Baldwin, and others. She's especially happy when she gets to cover such close-to-her-heart issues as parental leave policy in the U.S., the health-insurance crisis, and the lack of affordable childcare -- issues that have affected her family personally and which she is passionate about getting into the cultural conversation. Rachel's bylines have also appeared in The Hollywood Reporter, the Los Angles Times, and Entertainment Weekly. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Creative Writing and French Literature from the University of Southern California. When not chained to a laptop, Rachel is a mom of three girls and loves dragging her husband and kids to museums and new pastry shops (she doesn't ever have to actually drag them to have baked goods, but you get what she means). She lives in Los Angeles.
