AI Can Actually Make Your Holidays Easier This Year

Confession: I love this time of year. My favorite season? The holiday season. My favorite holiday? All of them. From October to January, I intentionally surround myself with seasonal cheer, and I can’t get enough. I’ve been enchanted by the entire glittery situation since I was a little girl. To me, the joy of the holidays feels like magic.

This year, I’ve found a way to add yet another layer of magic to my holiday planning and shopping: AI-powered Bing and Copilot in Microsoft Edge. Short of hiring an actual Holiday Elf personal assistant, I’m not sure how I could simplify my shopping and planning any more.

Edge is my browser of choice, and I love how the Copilot in Edge icon hangs out on the righthand side of my screen, allowing me to search and browse, consulting Copilot in Edge when I need it without having to remember to navigate back to it. There is nothing more convenient than being able to shop, plan, and design right from my laptop at home or on the go. I can maximize every minute during the day, leaving more time at home in the evenings to just relax and take in the holiday cheer I love so much.

I Can Shop Smarter With The Help Of AI

I started on the Edge Browser using Copilot in Microsoft Shopping to help me find the right play kitchen for my preschooler and a play tent for my school-age son, but it hit me mid-search: I don’t even have to know what I’m looking for! I had been completely stumped on Hanukkah gifts for my best friend’s grown son and teenage daughter. Within minutes, the AI-powered feature helped me find a personalized RFID-blocking wallet for her son and a skincare mini-fridge for her daughter. I’m confident I’ve chosen good ones, because built-in features in Microsoft Edge provided me with a synopsis of the most common reviews online, helping me narrow it down to the ones other shoppers have found to be functional and high-quality. I also found the best price on the Xbox Series X my husband and kids have been pining for, and I think it might just find its way under the tree this year.

Copilot In Microsoft Edge Is An Incredible Chef & Party Planner

Like most of us, I have about 700 holiday parties to attend this month. I love them, but coming up with something to bring to every event can be daunting. Lucky for me, I have Copilot in Edge. I needed a healthy snack and a kid-approved craft to bring to my kid’s classroom. Done. They’ll be chomping on peanut-free popcorn balls and making reindeer bottles while I’m over here looking like mom of the year.

I’m sitting on the yummiest sausage and cranberry dip for my husband’s “Dipsmas Party” at work (he is totally going to win the gift card), my coworkers are going to love my stuffed Snickerdoodles at the cookie swap, and my stepfather will never believe that the cheesecake I’m making him for Christmas is a healthier option.

Using Copilot in Edge, I asked for it to compose a poem inviting people to our annual Christmas Eve Feast of Seven Fishes, and it delivered three impeccable stanzas, completely invitation-ready. Impressed with my poem, I asked for a “minimalist watercolor image of a school of fish.” A few seconds later, the perfect image for my invitation materialized on my screen.
